The “appointment” resource is the creation of a booked healthcare event on a specific date and time and relates to planned events that are in the future or the past. It can only describe a single meeting and a series of repeating visits would require multiple appointments to be created.

The instance scheduled by an appointment may be face-to-face or virtual (by phone, video conference etc) but the time and usage of one or more people, locations and/or pieces of equipment is being fully or partially reserved for a designated period of time.
